Abstract

The objective of this research was the identification of an orange fungus responsible of the natural control and regulation of whiteflies populations, including Aleurothrixus floccosus (Mask) and Dialeurodes citrifolii (Morgan),
on citric plants in Tucumán, Argentina. Results showed it is an entomopathogen Aschersonia aleyrodis Webber (Deuteromycotina: Hyphomycetes) that could possibly be used as a control agent within an integrated management strategy for citrus pests.
